DUAL SYSTEM PROJECT
BERNARDO MONTOYA AND NICOLAS BONILLA
CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR ODEÓN 2017
.
Since its rediscovery in early 2016, the Apex Geological Survey's Elemental Particles rock inventory has piqued the interest of the scientific community and passionate collectors. Some connoisseurs of the subject have approached the institution in order to familiarize themselves with the inventory and better understand its possibilities of study.
The Bogota artist Bernardo Montoya, who for several years has been working with stratigraphies, layers of paint and volume formations based on pictorial fluids, explores the aesthetic possibilities of the rock inventory of the Ápex Geological Survey. Montoya systematically studies some of the rocks that are part of Elementary Particles and develops an artistic proposal associated with them.
Appreciating in the same space the original rocks of the Ápex Geological Survey and the artistic objects built by Bernardo Montoya, the infinite paths that open when establishing relationships between science and art, between objects of nature and objects created by the man.
